An audience is made up of fans and a following is made up of followers. A fan is enthusiastic devotee who becomes enthused when a person of high influence embarks on a new journey, reaches a new milestone, or makes a big announcement. A follower on the other hand is someone who decides to pay attention to someone but if that person of influence begins to slow down or no longer stands out, will begin to forget and slip away. That is why in the modern age, if new businesses want to succeed, they MUST stand out especially in a digital age where anyone can build an empire from the grassroots up.
Followers come and go. Fans are long-lasting. A follower is someone who checks in every once in a while, a fan becomes worried if their ‘hero’ goes silent for a day. If future service businesses are going to make an impact and stay everlasting, they need to convert followers to fans. Here’s how:
